Mike Wilson just launched his new website, MikeWilsonTunes.com and his new YouTube channel with that comes his new video. He does a cover of the Imagine Dragon’s song, radioactive that is featured in the new box office movie by author Stephanie Meyer’s called “The Host”.
Michael loves to really dig into a song, find out the meaning, feel what the songwriter felt when he wrote it, and then combine it with his own feelings. Mike expresses his interest, “So many songs have diverse meanings and allow us to connect to them in our own unique way and that is what I love about Imagine Dragons and this song "Radioactive". To me this song is about coming out over your personal dungeon and breaking through roadblocks that everyone finds in their lives and waking up to a new age and making the best of it. I really like Imagine Dragons and their overall message that they share.”
The video was filmed in southern Utah at the lava caves by Snow Canyon, in some burned forests on Kolob as well as other local landscapes. They captured some amazing sunsets and found some native american rock art. Mike Wilson has an ancestor that is cherokee and has always had an interest in native american artifacts and has even made a native american flute with his father.
In this video, Mike sings, plays the guitar and he also used a 75 year old family heirloom grand piano given to him by his grandmother, one of his cherished possessions.
“I hope everyone on youtube sees my radioactive cover and knows I couldn’t have done it without my team.” says Wilson.
The music for Mike’s new cover video is by Imagine Dragons "Radioactive" from their album Night Visions, and it is the theme song from Stephanie Meyer’s book turned to movie, "The Host”.
Mike’s marketing director is Derral Eves, his videographers for the video were Douglas Wilson and Joseph Wilson. Recording through John Houston Studios.
