There was a significant improvement in the number of closed sales for homes, condos, and townhomes in Long Grove for the year ending February 28, 2013. The number of closed sales increased by more than 55%, as the number rose from 77 closed sales for the year ending February 29, 2012 to 120 closed sales for the year ending February 28, 2013. This may be a sign of an improving market, especially since the number of homes for sale in the area decreased by 13.6%, as the number fell from 128 homes for sale for the year ending February 29, 2012 to 110 homes for sale for the year ending February 28, 2013. The number of new listings of homes for sale in Long Grove also fell by 11.5%, decreasing from 262 new listings for the year ending February 29, 2012 to 232 new listings for the year ending February 28, 2013.

There was also a decrease in the month’s supply of inventory, as this number declined from 19.5 homes for the year ending February 29, 2012 to 13 homes for the year ending February 28, 2013. The median sales price also fell slightly for the third year in a row, as this number fell from $642,500 for the year ending February 28, 2011 to $588,888 for the year ending February 29, 2012 to $565,000 for the year ending February 28, 2013. The area has seen improvement in the market time for homes, townhomes and condos for sale in Long Grove. The number of days homes remained on the market has steadily decreased over the last three years, falling from 138 days for the year ending February 28, 2011 to 128 days for the year ending February 29, 2012 to finally 184 days for the year ending February 28, 2013.
