There were mixed results for the number of closed sales on homes, condos, and townhomes in Palatine for the month of February 2013. The number of closed sales for attached homes declined slightly from 39 closed sales in February 2012 to 32 closed sales in February 2013. However, there was an increase of over 66% in the number of closed sales for detached homes, as the number rose from 15 closed sales one year ago to 25 closed sales for February 2013. There was a decrease in the number of homes for sale in February 2013 for both attached and detached homes. The number of attached homes for sales fell from 402 homes in February 2012 to 184 homes in February 2013, and the number of detached homes for sale dropped from 231 homes in February 2012 to 184 homes in February 2013. There were also mixed results for the number of new listings for home, townhomes, and condos in Palatine. The number of new listings for attached homes decreased from 82 new listings in February 2012 to 75 new listings in February 2013. Whereas, the number of new listings for detached homes rose from 58 new listings in February 2012 to 72 new listings for February 2013. The month’s supply of inventory also decrease from last year’s figures, with the attached homes’ inventory dropping from 9.1 homes in February 2012 to 3.2 home in February 2013, and detached homes’ inventory falling from 9 homes in February 2012 to 5 homes in February 2013. There were mixed results for the median sales price for Palatine homes. The median sales price for attached homes increased slightly from $60.800 in February 2012 to $66,088 in February 2013, and the median sales price for detached homes decreased slightly from $260,000 in February 2012 to $220,000 in February 2013. There was good news in the market time as the number of days attached homes remained on the market fell from 114 days in February 2012 to 88 days in February 2013, and the number of days detached homes stayed on the market decreased from 167 days in February 2012 to 123 days in February 2013.
