The San Antonio carpet cleaners at Steamer’s Carpet Care donated to the San Antonio Food Bank last week, enabling the food bank to provide 2,100 meals to hungry people in the San Antonio area this holiday season.

Through the San Antonio Food Bank’s distribution channels, the nonprofit can purchase 3,000 pounds of food, which works out to approximately 2,100 meals, with the donation from Steamer’s Carpet Care.

“We believe in the mission of the San Antonio Food Bank,” said Jon Bibb, the owner of Steamer’s Carpet Care. “Not only do they feed the hungry in our area, they provide a variety of educational services to help people in our community cook nutritious meals, adjust to life with diabetes or prevent nutrition-related diseases. When we have a chance to help them in their mission, we take it.”

Steamer’s Carpet Care partnered with the San Antonio Food Bank earlier this year to promote the organization’s San Antonio Goes Orange campaign for Hunger Awareness Month. During the San Antonio Goes Orange campaign, Steamer’s Carpet Care donated $200, which the San Antonio Food Bank was able to turn into 2,000 pounds of food for people in San Antonio.

Last week’s donation brings Steamer’s Carpet Care’s 2012 donations to the San Antonio Food Bank to $500, or 5,000 pounds of food, which will become 3,500 meals.
