Mobile shoppers are looking for a fast, seamless checkout experience, and this new interface will help us deliver that experience.

ShopSavvy, the world’s largest mobile shopping community, today announced enhancements to ShopSavvy Wallet, which will offer consumers more choices faster following the integration of an application programming interface (API) from Best Buy.

ShopSavvy Wallet allows users to make mobile purchases with just one tap from dozens of major retailers, including Best Buy, Walmart, Barnes & Noble, Nordstrom, Toys ‘R’ Us, JC Penney and Home Depot. ShopSavvy Wallet users who scan an item in a store and see a better deal online can purchase it immediately without ever leaving ShopSavvy. Now, with the new API from the BBYOpen team at Best Buy, users get more online and local-store offers than ever before and they get them faster.

Through BBYOpen, Best Buy provides technology infrastructure that helps partners and developers access and interact with Best Buy's commerce systems. Employing the BBYOpen APIs helps ShopSavvy strengthen its leadership position in mobile payments, and it is available immediately to ShopSavvy’s more than 10 million active users.

A recent survey of more than 1,000 ShopSavvy Wallet users showed that nearly 70 percent of them positively described the experience, calling it either “delightful” or “easy.” More than 54 percent of respondents said it was faster than expected.

“Those results helped us focus on how we would improve ShopSavvy Wallet,” said Alexander Muse, co-founder and CEO of ShopSavvy. “Integrating BBYOpen’s API is part of that process, and we’re excited for the new discussions with merchants that we think this advancement will bring.”
