... "It appears that if Pradaxa is not a viable alternative to warfarin—in that it does not offer demonstrably better alternatives—then it would seem that patients need to exercise caution and consider all legal options."
New York, NY (PRWEB) April 05, 2013
On its website, Boehringer Ingelheim markets* blood-thinner Pradaxa as 35 percent more effective at reducing stroke than warfarin. But a recent study** presented at a Joint Session of the Heart Rhythm Society and the American College of Cardiology in San Francisco indicated that Pradaxa was no better than warfarin, an anticoagulant that has been around longer and without Pradaxa’s alleged bleeding side effects. The Rottenstein Law Group, a Pradaxa law firm, acknowledges the study and publicizes its Pradaxa page at http://www.rotlaw.com/pradaxa-lawsuit/, which illustrates in detail the options for those who believe their medication has harmed them.
“Based on the phone calls we have received from those seeking legal counsel, on news reports***, and on the research studies conducted, it appears that if Pradaxa is not a viable alternative to warfarin—in that it does not offer demonstrably better alternatives—then it would seem that patients need to exercise caution and consider all legal options,” said Rochelle Rottenstein, principal of the Rottenstein Law Group.
There are a growing number of lawsuits nationwide, many of which have been consolidated into a federal multidistrict litigation, In re Pradaxa Products Liability Litigation, MDL-2385, U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Illinois (East St. Louis), Rottenstein said.
The Rottenstein Law Group represents clients who believe they have been harmed by Pradaxa and encourages people to visit the firm’s Pradaxa Legal Information Center and to download a free brochure to help them determine if they have a case.
