The rankings by The Economist, Mercer, Bloomberg, and others only confirm what we’ve known all along – that Singapore is the top place in Asia for anyone to live and do business.

Singapore (PRWEB) December 05, 2012

The Economist recently published its worldwide quality-of-life index for 2013. The index, compiled by its Economist Intelligence Unit, ranked Singapore as the top place to be born in Asia and sixth globally – ahead of other major regional cities such as Hong Kong, Shanghai, and Tokyo. Factors that were considered included economic stability, crime rates, life expectancy, GDP per head, and job security.

American consulting firm Mercer released its 2012 Quality of Living Survey this past Monday. The Mercer survey also ranked Singapore as the top Asian city for quality of life. Even more impressive was the country’s performance in Mercer’s newly created infrastructure rankings, where it was the top ranked globally.

Being named to the top spot in Asia on The Economist’s ‘Where-to-be-born’ Index and Mercer’s surveys are just two of the many recent accolades that Singapore has received. This year alone, Singapore has scored high on several quality of life measures such as Bloomberg’s ‘World’s Healthiest Country’ title and ECA International’s ‘Most Livable City in Asia for Expats’. In the economic arena, where it perennially excels, Singapore has been consistently ranked as ‘World’s Easiest Place to Do Business’ by the World Bank.

Singapore is well regarded for its strong performance in various factors that affect quality of life. These include its open and business-friendly economy, stable political and social environment, excellent education and health-care systems, attractive tax rates, and a well-run public services infrastructure. These have led to its high rankings in global studies and indexes by various organizations.

“As a corporate services firm that helps expatriates register a Singapore company, we witness the strong demand for immigration into Singapore on a daily basis,” said Ms. Jacqueline Low, Chief Operating Officer of Janus Corporate Solutions, a leading Singapore company incorporation services firm and the parent company of GuideMeSingapore. “Singapore is a great place to do business, with very strong growth and low taxes. People are also recognizing that they can make more money, send their children to top schools, be able to feel safe at night, and generally live healthy and happy lives here.”

“Even as the government has announced plans to tighten its immigration policies, we continue to see a healthy number of overseas entrepreneurs and professionals inquiring about how they can relocate here through the various Singapore work pass schemes,” she continued. “The rankings by The Economist, Mercer, Bloomberg, and others only confirm what we’ve known all along – that Singapore is the top place in Asia for anyone to live and do business.”
