Perth, Western Australia (PRWEB) March 15, 2013
On Friday 8th of March, Pablo Rodriguez Pina, founder and co-director of the Perth (Western Australia) based software company made a statement thanking Oracle for their recent efforst in patching security vulnerabilities in the Java Runtime Environment.
The company specialising in Enterprise Java Development uses desktop technologies such as Swing and JavaFX in their projects on which client-side Java Security plays an important role.
Reported Security vulnerabilities had raised concerns over the security of the Java Runtime Environment. Pablo Rodriguez Pina, stated his position on the issue during the statement: “There has been a lot of news regarding security vulnerabilities on the JRE and a lot of people have criticised Java and Oracle as being very a threat and have recommended users to uninstall Java. I always saw this augmented perception of the pc security. If we were to list the security vulnerabilities of the Microsoft Windows Platform and use the same metrics we would discourage anyone from installing Microsoft Windows”
Since December 2012 Oracle has been making a noticeable effort to patch any vulnerabilities in the Java Runtime Environment to the point of releasing security updates before the scheduled dates at a pace not seen before. Pablo Rodriguez also commented on this during the statement: “Oracle has proven not only to be the vendor of rock solid software but also to have the flexibility to adjust product and security release dates to circumstances. This year alone, we have already seen 4 security updates to Java 7. I don’t recall so much pace and care for the JRE since the time of the earlier 1.2 and 1.3 versions of Java. We are very thankful to Oracle for this Efforts”
The director later on added how efforts made by Oracle help protecting the Java Brand and hence consumer confidence in the technology.
“I can see Java is gaining momentum again, a momentum which 4 years ago I thought it was losing. Java has regained it’s number one position as a programming language on the TIOBE index and having closures and modularization on the roadmap it’s becoming the clear first choice for enterprise development it was a few years ago”
