The goal for Boston Strong! is One Million Miles. Anyone can contribute – young or old – elite athlete or weekend warrior – anyone can help the people in Boston by donating their everyday sports activities - SportsQuest will convert any activity to miles.
Huntington, NY (PRWEB) April 26, 2013
Sportsideo, the rapidly growing sports social network and community announced today that it launched its newest version of Sportsideo’s SportsQuest to help the families and people affected by the tragic events in Boston last week. The SportsQuest, called Boston Strong!, enables any person to contribute their everyday activities or pledge money for the benefit of The One Fund Boston. The One Fund Boston is a fund that was formed last week by Massachusetts Governor Deval Patrick and Boston Mayor Tom Menino to help those families most affected by the tragic events that unfolded during last Monday’s Boston Marathon.
"Our newest version of Sportsideo’s SportsQuest is tailor made for anyone who wants to make a difference, make a statement, and help the people who were impacted by the tragic events in Boston last week,” said Steve Vesce, Co-Founder and CEO of Sportsideo. “We’ve set a goal of One Million Miles for Boston Strong! to benefit The One Fund Boston. Anyone can do it – young or old – elite athlete or weekend warrior. Anyone can stand up with the people in Boston by donating their normal everyday sports activities to add miles to our goal of One Million Miles for Boston. Every person, every mile counts. They simply enter normal everyday sports activities every day and Sportsideo's SportsQuest converts each person’s activities to miles. And it doesn’t matter what the activity is - bike, run, walk, play golf, tennis, soccer, badminton, darts, baseball, softball, basketball - whatever the activity – we will convert it to miles toward the goal of One Million Miles for Boston Strong! It costs nothing to contribute your activities, your sweat, and your “miles”, and it means everything – both to the people in Boston affected by last week’s events, and to what we stand for in our country.”
“Sportsideo has already signed on as the first Corporate Sponsor of the Boston Strong! SportsQuest, and committed to Sponsor the first 24,901 miles – the equivalent of once around the world. We welcome other corporate sponsors to get involved with the Boston Strong! SportsQuest to help The One Fund Boston. 100% of the pledges made by Corporate Sponsors will be paid directly to The One Fund Boston. Individuals can also make pledges for the Boston Strong! SportsQuest to benefit of the One Fund Boston. The way we see it, there are three ways for each of us to make a statement and help: donate our sweat, donate our money or donate both,” concluded Vesce.
