Flower Mound, TX (Vocus) October 19, 2010
Genuitec, LLC, a founding and strategic member of the Eclipse Foundation, and Skyway Software, a SpringSource Certified Solution Partner, today announced the release of MyEclipse for Spring 8.6.1. The new release of the jointly-developed product is designed to quickly scaffold applications for Google App Engine and streamline deployment to the Google Cloud.
“Without a doubt, Cloud computing is becoming the preferred method to host Web applications as it's both a cheap and easy alternative to internally running apps,” said Maher Masri, president of Genuitec. “Google App Engine allows enterprises to use Google infrastructure to run apps with simple administration. Since MyEclipse for Spring now works with Google App Engine, we’ve expanded users’ power by allowing them to push apps directly into Google's Cloud in just minutes.”
The new Google App Engine capabilities are at an early access stage, and are available to both users of the full MyEclipse for Spring IDE solution and the recently-announced MyEclipse for Spring: STS Edition, which plugs directly into SpringSource Tool Suite (STS) as a value-added option.
As an additional early access enhancement to the 8.6.1 release, users will notice that they can now incorporate their own development standards into the generation templates so that scaffolded GWT, Flex, iPhone, Spring MVC or Spring Web Flow applications adhere to custom requirements or corporate standards. All artifacts can be customized prior to the scaffolding process in MyEclipse for Spring, reducing the tedium of individual file editing.
“The ability to customize your application as you scaffold, and then the easy deployment to Google App Engine really creates a seamless process for getting enterprise Spring apps up and running quickly,” said Jack Kennedy, vice president of product delivery for Skyway Software. “The ‘gotchas’ in a lot of Spring development are tied up in repetitive tasks and difficulty in finalizing projects targeted at specific platforms. Our latest release of MyEclipse for Spring solves both of these problems.”
MyEclipse for Spring is specially priced at US $99 for an annual license. Developers can download MyEclipse for Spring and/or the STS Edition by visiting: http://www.myeclipseide.com/me4s.
The recently-announced MyEclipse for Spring: STS Edition is available as a plug-in to SpringSource Tool Suite (STS), and gives STS users the ability to take their code and use it any way they want without vendor or aspects lock-in; something developers cannot do in standalone STS or Spring Roo. Now, developers can choose between the full MyEclipse for Spring IDE solution or the STS plug-in version for the same price.
Developers worldwide choose MyEclipse because it is the most affordable and comprehensive J2EE IDE and Web development tool suite for the Eclipse open-source platform. MyEclipse is the Eclipse plugin-based solution for all your UML, Ajax, Web, Web Services, J2EE, JSP, XML, Struts, JSF, Java Persistence, EJB, extended database support and application server integration needs.
