This July, SuperCamp attendees will live in the Loyola University Chicago dorms, eat in their dining hall, and learn in their classrooms to get a real taste of college life. But, more importantly, they will learn accelerated learning methods, or the Quantum Learning System as they call it at SuperCamp, from facilitators with decades of experience as teachers.
These are science-based learning methods, capitalizing on the way our brains work, rather than trying to force unnatural learning processes. SuperCamp Founder, Bobbi DePorter, studied with Dr. Georgi Lozanov, the father of accelerated learning, and developed those techniques into a comprehensive academic and personal enrichment summer camp program more than 30 years ago.

Comiskey has been teaching high school English in public schools since 2009. She graduated Cum Laude from the University of Illinois at Chicago, earning her BA in English Education and is currently working to earn her Masters of Education at the University of Illinois at Chicago. She has been a SuperCamp facilitator since 2010 and created SuperCamp’s current Quantum Writing curriculum. Comiskey will be joined by three other facilitators who boast similar accomplishments. These educators provide a wealth of knowledge and experience for SuperCamp students.

About Dana Comiskey:
Dana Comiskey graduated Cum Laude from the University of Illinois at Chicago, earning her BA in English Education and her Illinois Teaching Certification for grades 9-12. She currently lives in Chicago and has been teaching English since 2009. Throughout her teaching career, she has had the opportunity to teach English I and II, as well as an English IV Creative Writing course that she co-created with two of her colleagues. Dana has been with QLN since 2010. In this time, she has worked as a facilitator and as a part of the team that created SuperCamp’s current Quantum Writing curriculum. She is currently working to earn her Masters of Education in Literacy, Language, and Culture, as well as her Reading Specialist Certification at the University of Illinois at Chicago. Besides teaching, Dana enjoys biking, reading, karaoke, and learning how to fix things in her house.
