This OASIS program is going to help both parties conduct business more effectively. Small businesses will get the contracts they deserve and the GSA will be able to regulate their spending for each contract.

How does a government contract with uncapped earning potential sound? Almost sounds too good to be true right! Well it is on its way to becoming a reality. The General Services Administration’s (GSA) One Acquisition for Integrated Services program, or better known as OASIS has just released two draft requests for both a large business version and a small business version of the OASIS program. The small business OASIS program is designed to attract new businesses into it’s selected programs. The GSA selection process will search for a businesses past performance, certifications, system capabilities, and key experience in their field. US Federal Contractor Registration, the world’s largest third party registration firm develops government formatted websites, as well as business Capability Statements that contain all of the required information that is needed to be selected for an OASIS contract. US Federal Contractor Registration can market a business’s Capability Statement and Website by sending it directly to federal procurement officers across the nation. This specialized service will help prepare businesses for the release of the OASIS program and show their eligibility. However, every business must be registered in System for Award Management (SAM) in order to be eligible for government contracts, grants, set-asides, and specialized procurement programs like the GSA Schedule and OASIS.
Once a business is selected on the program they have the opportunity to have an uncapped earning potential of an upwards of $5 to $6 billion on these annual contracts. The advantage of this concept for OASIS contracts is that it provides all of the same advantages as being on a GSA Schedule, but has uncapped earning potential and cost-reimbursement features. Full details of each of the OASIS programs are planned to be released this upcoming summer in 2013. According to a quote by Jim Ghiloni, Director of the GSA’s OASIS Program, “OASIS is an indefinite delivery, indefinite quantity contract for professional services and will streamline the procurement process by vetting companies for agencies ahead of time, rather than evaluating dozens of bids, agencies could expect three to five OASIS vendors bidding for their business.” The OASIS program will select multiple businesses and instead of governmentwide bidding, it will only allow those selected businesses registered in the OASIS program to bid on these uncapped contracts.
Eric Knellinger, President of US Federal Contractor Registration stated, “This OASIS program is going to help both parties conduct business more effectively. Small businesses will get the contracts they deserve and the GSA will be able to regulate their spending for each contract. These uncapped contracts provide limitless potential and dollars for a small business involved. Small businesses must be registered in SAM in order to participate in the OASIS program. Small businesses that are not registered are missing out on millions of dollars that would just end up going to big business if they are not involved. If small business doesn’t stand up then large businesses will continue to take these contracts. The time to register in SAM for this OASIS program is right now, not in the summer when it is first released. Make sure your business is ready and prepared for the ribbon cutting of the GSA’s OASIS program and all the uncapped opportunity that comes with it. We here at US Federal Contractor Registration already provide the marketing and portfolio tools to get a business awarded government contracts and prepared for the release of the OASIS program. We want to make sure small businesses not only survive, but thrive in government contracting.”
