WarrantCheck has added new public records to their warrant reports in order to make them more useful to their customers, company officials said yesterday.
“We are a customer service oriented organization,” said company spokesman Josh Fraser. “So we have to listen to what our customers are looking for. We knew we were providing them with a lot of information, but looking at their feedback realized that we could offer them far more.”
The new reports provided by the company will contain a wealth of publicly available information including arrest records, jail records, prison records, sex offender registry status, marriage and divorce records, driving records, probation reports, and even the value of the home the person currently resides at.
“When we started out, we thought that people would be primarily concerned with criminal records,” Fraser said. “But over time we've realized that people often have a need to know whether someone is a good driver, lives in a good neighborhood, and if they have been divorced or are currently married.”
Fraser said the new information is to help serve people who are checking for information on potential romantic partners.
“We are no longer simply helping companies do warrant checks on potential employees,” he said. “We are helping make sure that the people they allow into their personal lives are being honest with them.”
Fraser credited the rise in online dating with the increased demand for warrant checks on potential dates.
“When you meet someone online, it's hard to tell over Skype if they are good person or not,” Fraser said. “We can help with that problem.”
