Wolfson Children’s Hospital is pleased to announce that community volunteer Pamela K. Onstead, RN, BA, has joined the Wolfson Children’s Hospital Board of Directors.
Mrs. Onstead currently serves on the board of the Jacksonville Chamber of Commerce Foundation and on The University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center Board of Visitors. She is a member of the MD Anderson Children’s Cancer Hospital advisory group and a member of the Jacksonville Women’s Giving Alliance. She is past board chair of Houston-based Collaborative for Children, immediate past president of The Chaplaincy Fund, Inc., which supports MD Anderson Cancer Center Department of Chaplaincy and Pastoral Education, and served on the Board of Directors of Partners, which supports nursing education and research for The University of Texas School of Nursing Houston.
A registered nurse specializing in perioperative nursing for more than 18 years, Mrs. Onstead has also worked in the fields of education and consulting. She has held positions in nursing management and administration, including serving as director of Surgical Services at a 388-bed hospital with a Level 2 Trauma Center. She is also a Registered Nurse First Assistant (RNFA) completing the RNFA program at UCLA. Mrs. Onstead has taught at the secondary and post-secondary levels in the areas of Foods and Nutrition, Health, Family Studies and Child Development.

Mrs. Onstead graduated from the Loma Linda University School of Nursing and San Diego State University, with degrees in Nursing and Home Economics Education. She and her husband Randall live in Jacksonville.
