This recognition proves that rising to the ideals of the physical therapy profession, promoting in-depth relationships with patients, and providing affordable care are viable strategies that foster growth in healthcare organizations.

PT Development, a Louisville-based private equity company, announced that one of its start-up companies, Texas Physical Therapy Specialists (TexPTS), ranked number 748 on the 2011 Inc. 5000 list. This is the third consecutive year that TexPTS has made the publication's exclusive ranking of the 5,000 fastest-growing private companies in the U.S.

The list represents a comprehensive look at the most important segment of the economy, America’s independent-minded and resilient entrepreneurs. TexPTS joins other prominent companies featured on the list such as Pandora, Grubhub.com, and myYearbook.

“PT Development is very proud of the national recognition of the TexPTS team,” states Larry Benz, the CEO and founder of PT Development (PTD). “This recognition proves that rising to the ideals of the physical therapy profession, promoting in-depth relationships with patients, and providing affordable care are viable strategies that foster growth in healthcare organizations.”

PTD, which co-founded TexPTS, maintains on-going operating roles in all aspects of TexPTS’ clinics including human resources, strategy, marketing, finance, accounting, compliance, and business development. PTD’s continuous focus on the integration of the patient experience and their nationally respected clinical expertise has helped TexPTS grow from a single clinic to fourteen locations in the past five years. TexPTS’ rise highlighted in the prestigious Inc. 5,000 rankings is a testament to both their and PTD’s dedication to clinical excellence and customer service.

Benz’s entrepreneurial success began when he founded the Louisville-based Kentucky Orthopedic Rehab Team (KORT). In 2007, Benz sold his interest in KORT and focused his efforts on PTD’s start-ups such as TexPTS, Indiana-based ProRehab, Evidence In Motion (EIM), and several others. EIM is another example of Benz’s talent for creating successful companies. In 2009, EIM was recognized by Greater Louisville Inc. by winning the Inc.credible award for outstanding small businesses and has since grown into the largest post-professional physical therapy educational institution in the United States.

Equal amounts of Benz’s entrepreneurial energy and passion are represented in his philanthropic work as well. Following the devastating earthquake in Haiti, Benz founded Jacmel Rehab, a physical therapy clinic that offers free treatment to local citizens. Over the past year, Benz has increased his philanthropic interest in Haiti to include Kenbe Fem, a children’s home that provides housing and care for 22 Haitian children.
