Scientific Technologies Corporation (STC), one of the nation’s leading public health and Health Information Exchange (HIE) organizations, has formed a Public Health Practice group. The goals of the group are to elevate STC’s reputation as a leader in public health, to support state, local, and national public health entities through assessments and studies, and to research and identify emerging public health business practices.

The Public Health Practice Group will leverage STC’s expertise in areas such as immunizations, disease surveillance, outbreak management, public health assessments, feasibility studies, and interoperability to further advance public health initiatives for organizations across the country. The Public Health Practice group consists of a unique blend of epidemiologists, public health advisors, subject matter experts, nurses, and technology experts who work together to create innovative solutions to today’s complex issues. “Having dedicated public health advisors will support our work and will keep public health at the forefront of the technology we use,” says Belinda Baker, Information Technology Specialist for the Washington State Department of Health Immunization Program.

STC is the leading Public Health Informatics company in the United States. STC plays a key role in protecting the public from diseases by utilizing more than twenty years of experience to develop solutions that are critical to public health challenges. Our people are committed to improving public health through the applied use of population health data collected through modernized information systems. Our staff offers an extraordinary blend of trained public health advisors and applied information system developers who come together to create cost effective and innovative health information technology solutions. The experience of STC, combined with the partnership of our clients, provides a critical source of public health information in the United States. Our new Public Health Practice will continue to advance STC’s role as a leader in this arena. As described by STC President and CEO Michael Popovich, “We felt that by bringing experienced clinical and public health professionals including epidemiologists and program specialists together with one goal and working with our clients to leverage data for information specific to population health outcomes, we would make a difference in the health and economic welfare of individuals and communities. Our newly established Public Health Practice division has this one goal. They will, I believe, along with our public health partners, begin to use these assets to achieve the ultimate objective of minimizing the impact of disease.”

STC’s goal is to continually show our clients the value of investing in public health information technology by demonstrating its value through high quality service, innovative software solutions, and population-based outcomes. STC achieves this goal by delivering and installing quality products and services in a timely and efficient manner. While STC takes great pride in delivering quality services, we are driven by the knowledge that we play a key role in protecting children and adults from disease, ultimately creating healthier populations.
