New Sales Executive Brings Valuable Publishing Experience to nSight

Christopher Kelly Will Counsel Clients on Best Practices in Content Development and Print and Electronic Media Publishing

Burlington, MA nSight Inc., a technical and educational content development and publishing services firm, today announced that Christopher Kelly has joined its expanding staff as a sales executive for the publishing and education markets.

Kelly comes to nSight from Pearson Education, a global leader in educational publishing that produces research-based print and digital programs to foster learning. A veteran of more than a dozen years in publishing, e-learning, and educational sales, Kelly marketed Pearson's computer science product line for higher education.

"With his deep connections in the publishing industry, combined with his passion, energy, and knowledge of print and electronic learning, I'm sure we're going to see a big uptick in print and interactive media work."

Kelly, in turn, welcomes the opportunity to shift to business-to-business consulting and sales. "I've spent a lot of years in the publishing world--a world that's going through profound changes with the rise of e-learning and delivery of educational materials in print, media, or a hybrid of the two," he said. "While I previously worked primarily with professors, now, at nSight, I'm able to use my publishing skills and contacts to act as a consultant to publishing companies on best practices in the industry."

Kelly's sales, marketing, and consulting experience includes positions with Addison-Wesley, specialists in e-learning, where he specialized in computer science; The MathWorks, purveyors of educational software, where he worked closely with professors and resellers to create best practices for product use; and Thomson Learning (now Cengage), which delivers customized learning solutions. While at Thomson, Kelly wrote a selling manual, aimed at the computer science and engineering markets, that teaches sales people how to base their sales strategies on awareness and trends.

At John Wiley and Sons, his knowledge of technology, computer science, and engineering markets helped him achieve quota each fiscal year and grow sales among schools in Massachusetts, New Hampshire, and Maine. As a field technology specialist for Houghton Mifflin, Kelly worked with colleges to customize electronic course management. As a senior marketing manager for Pearson Education, he used his product knowledge and collaboration with authors, editors, and reviewers to produce winning product and market strategies.

A graduate of Salem College, Kelly lives in Tewksbury, Mass., with his wife and two daughters. He is an organizer of the new Tewksbury Education Foundation, a nonprofit community fundraising group being developed to supplement school programs that cannot be supported by tax dollars.
