Fresh Patch, the maker of the real-grass, disposable dog potty, is joining the celebration of National Puppy Day on March 23 by adding a new option to its product line. Andrew Feld, founder of Fresh Patch, says that his company furthers the purpose of National Puppy Day, which is to promote adoptions from animal shelters, humane societies, and rescue groups. The Fresh Patch dog potty helps puppies become acclimated to their new homes and trains them to avoid having “accidents” on floors and carpeting. According to Feld, the availability of Fresh Patch encourages more people to adopt puppies from shelters because they don’t need to worry about being home to tend to their puppy’s immediate bathroom needs. The company regularly donates their product to a local dog rescue--The Best Friends Animal Society of Los Angeles.
The Fresh Patch Company emphasizes that puppies are naturally attracted to its potties because they contain long-lasting, dirt-free, real grass. Now, in keeping with National Puppy Week, the company is designing a stylish, protective sleeve to make its product particularly well suited to those puppies that are chewers. The sleeve will provide a permanent exterior case into which a newly delivered Fresh Patch unit can be placed. The case is open on the top for the pup’s easy access to the real grass and is designed so that a used Fresh Patch can easily be replaced when a new one is delivered, on either a weekly or bi-weekly basis. According to Feld, his company will offer the protective sleeve as an option to customers whose puppies want to chew not only on old socks, but on everything in sight. “This new protective sleeve will ensure that disposable Fresh Patch units don’t fall prey to those very sharp puppy teeth,” says Feld. The new protective casings are expected to be available for optional purchase by Fresh Patch customers within the next two months.
