Redwood Shores, CA (PRWEB) February 18, 2010
PureDepth™, Inc. (OTC:PDEP), the creator of Multi-Layer Display™ (MLD) technology and a leader in new visualization experiences, today announced it has been granted a patent in India for an improved multilayer video screen. This patent, the 84th awarded to PureDepth, broadly describes improvements to MLD clarity through the modification or selection of differing pixel patterns on each display layer, which consequently eliminates moiré interference.
PureDepth’s MLD displays contain two or more layers of display panels placed in front of one another in a single monitor allowing for 3-D effects. Its patented technologies provide brilliant alerts, high-contrast viewing, intense colors and real depth, revolutionizing the way people view data, images, video and other content. Patent 236944, which has a priority date of July 15, 2002, becomes part of PureDepth’s strong portfolio of intellectual property, consisting of more than 150 pending and allowed patents.
“India is a significant player in the production of displays, with numerous manufacturers present in the country,” said PureDepth CEO Andy Wood. “Being granted this patent in this important market demonstrates our commitment to remaining at the vanguard of emerging display technology. It also increases the level of protection afforded to our licensees, setting the stage for future partnerships with major brands and OEMs.”
PureDepth’s MLD technology offers 3-D-like imagery without the need for special glasses. By providing real depth, instead of a simulation, PureDepth’s technology delivers the most lifelike and most useful visual experience ever available, without negative side effects like headaches and dizziness.
