Dr. Wise Young is the Honorary Chairperson of this event. As the Founding Director of the W.M. Keck Center for Collaborative Neuroscience and Richard H. Shindell Chair in Neuroscience, Dr. Young is at the forefront of bringing clinical trials currently underway in China to the U.S. in the near future. With the belief that ongoing training will be crucial to the success of patients’ progress after clinical trials, Dr. Young is recommending that Push to Walk be the place to continue working out after medical treatment is completed.
For the past four years, Push to Walk has attracted individuals and businesses to its events by offering an exceptional day of golf, dinner and socializing. In addition, this year’s event will feature the Dennis Walters Golf Show in celebration of Push to Walk’s 5th Anniversary. This one hour show of great golf, great fun, and an inspiring message is not to be missed!
“Dennis Walters is the perfect match for our outing. After giving up on golf for years when he sustained a spinal cord injury, he decided to use his personal experience to inspire and motivate others to never give up and realize their full potential. We are ecstatic to have Dennis at this year’s event and hope nobody misses what is sure to be a memorable show” said Cynthia Templeton, President of Push to Walk. “If you don’t play golf, join us for the show, dinner, donate one of the sponsorship packages or make a contribution of cash or prizes for the auction. All contributions are greatly appreciated and will be listed on our Donor Recognition Board.”
Push to Walk is able to cover only about 75% of its operating costs through client fees, and relies on fundraising events to help make up the difference. “Our annual charity golf outing is our largest and most valuable event, raising us the funds to help cover operating costs, purchase new equipment, and create scholarship opportunities for clients in need,” explains Cynthia.
Online registration and donation opportunities are available on the Push to Walk website: http://www.pushtowalknj.org. For more information, please contact Stephanie Lajam at (862) 200-5848 or slajam(at)pushtowalknj(dot)org.
