Santee, Calif. (PRWEB) January 14, 2014

Quality Controlled Manufacturing Inc. (QCMI) is pleased to announce that it recently completed a Sustainability Circle™ program. The precision manufacturer has already achieved positive business outcomes and is positioned to reap longer-term benefits from their sustainability initiatives. The program was developed and is facilitated by True Market Solutions (TMS).

The True Market Solutions Sustainability Circle program helps small to mid-size businesses (SMEs) build competitive advantage, profitability, and brand leadership through a six-month peer-learning program that uses the latest thinking, technologies, and tools to embed sustainability practices into their organization. The outcome of the program is a customized Sustainability Action Plan created by participants themselves and geared toward their specific business objectives such as energy efficiency, productivity, or cultural change.

QCMI specializes in the precision machining of all metals including exotic alloys. The nationally recognized metal working company produces components with complex shapes, contours, exacting tolerances and stringent quality requirements. It manufactures parts and assemblies for the aerospace, power generation, Department of Defense (DOD), oil and gas, marine and heavy equipment industries.

QCMI initially joined the San Diego Sustainability Circle with the goal of launching companywide sustainability efforts to decrease the manufacturing facility’s carbon footprint, achieve energy star certification and to investigate the benefits of incorporating renewable energy by going solar. The program provided essential insights on ways to implement sustainable solutions throughout the company. As a result QCMI has created its Sustainability Mission, Sustainability Vision and Sustainability Action Plan.

The mission states, “We will extend the pride our employees have in their work by implementing sustainable solutions throughout the company in order to positively impact our customers, employees, the environment, profits, and the company’s future.” The vision states, “To be a world-class organization leading our industry in: quality, customer service, innovation, integrity, workplace growth, sustainability, and in our relentless pursuit of continuous improvement.”

“Our participation in the Sustainability Circle has helped us develop a companywide Sustainability Action Plan,” said Human Resources Manager, Becky Quinn. “The plan has many phases of implementation. Each phase will have a positive financial and environmental impact. Once fully implemented, we believe this will set us apart from other manufacturers and allow us to become a leader in our industry as it relates to sustainability and green manufacturing.”

“It’s exciting for us to work with forward-thinking organizations like QCMI,” said TMS founder and CEO Elliot Hoffman. “They recognize that thriving in a competitive market requires ingenuity, solid brand reputation, and sound business practices that nourish the company, the community, and the environment. We’re proud that they chose TMS to help them meet their sustainability goals.”
