QL2, the leading provider of real-time market intelligence, today announced that Russ Aldrich has joined as Chief Executive Officer (CEO). Aldrich brings more than 35 years of experience, both as an executive in the software industry and as a managing director in venture capital firms. His ongoing commitment to fostering emerging technologies from concept to reality gives him the understanding and vision required for continued development of QL2 as an essential strategic partner for its customers.

Over the past five years, QL2 has experienced steady growth in both its revenue and customer base, while realizing early acceptance by the industry. QL2 has received numerous business, financial and technology awards including Inc. Prior to joining QL2, Aldrich was engaged on a project with the Office of Technology Transfer at the University of Washington and Executive Director of Guide Ventures LLC, a Seattle-based venture capital firm. As a venture capitalist, Aldrich has helped multiple companies grow from ideas to multi-million dollar ventures. His portfolio included successful Pacific Northwest companies such as AdRelevance (acquired by Media Metrix), Virtual Relocation (acquired by TMP Worldwide) and ShareBuilder (acquired by ING). Over the past three years as a CxO-level consultant, he has assisted early stage start-ups to achieve their goals. Aldrich has a keen understanding of database technology and connectivity and he was a co-founder of Simba Technologies, Microsoft's partner in the development of open database connectivity (ODBC). Earlier in his career he served in executive roles at a number of innovative companies including Silicon Graphics, Unisys, Altos Computer Systems, Apple Computer and Xerox.
