The EU Skills Network is an initiative powered by QMSA to support small to medium businesses in new areas of work and help create a network that enables small businesses to expand by providing fully funded training packages to develop independent trade businesses.
The EU Skills Network will be providing fully funded training for 60 businesses; the businesses that will be chosen will be of those who participated in the recent survey and a handful of businesses who have been loyal clients of QMSA. The upcoming training will be fully funded therefore there is no cost to the businesses who participate and they will only be expected to attend all sessions in return. In addition the businesses will also be given the latest systems at no cost to meet the new scheme requirements, which can be costly.
The survey that QMSA conducted brought to light that 95% of the businesses in the survey were interested in the funded training and support from the EU Skills Network and that 48% of the businesses are less busy that they were 2 years ago.
When the businesses were asked which surveys they are currently approved for there were only 2 businesses that were Green Deal Approved, and all were approved by the Gas Safe Register Scheme. However although only 2 businesses were Green Deal Approved, when asked which schemes were of interest to them 52 of them said they were interested in the Green Deal scheme.
The survey was conducted to briefly analyse the industry in 2013 and by doing so QMSA established that 63 out of the 66 businesses who participated in the survey are interested in the training – this suggests that many businesses need financial help in order to improve as training is too costly.
