The course materials include training on the following tools: Process Mapping, Brainstorming/Fishbone Diagram, Y Metrics, Ballots, Presentations, Analysis Capture Tools and Value Stream Mapping.
The full two days of training costs $750. People who register for the training and pay before March 12, 2012 receive a 10% early-bird discount. Eduardo Santiago, Minitab technical training specialist, will be the instructor for the State College sessions. “My training style is very interactive and learner-focused,” he says.
Santiago earned a bachelor’s degree in industrial engineering from CETYS-Universidad, one of Mexico’s premier educational institutions, and later earned a M.Eng. and a Ph.D. in industrial engineering and operations research from Penn State.
He earned Six Sigma certification from Sony while working as a quality improvement consultant for clients such as Plantronics, RCA Display, URBI Homes and Markofoam, a Sony supplier. Now Santiago combines his passion for teaching and his quality improvement experience to help others get the maximum benefit from Minitab software.

Quality Companion Essentials
Participants learn to identify potential quality improvement projects and how to quantify the risks involved. Participants define and scope a project to more easily gain buy-in from key stakeholders and determine which tools and statistical analyses are appropriate at any phase of the project. Participants create custom data fields and categories, as well as custom project and tool templates that can be stored as permanent software options and shared with other users.
Topics include Quality Companion Environment, Project Manager, Roadmap, Coaches, Templates, Custom Data Fields, Project Data Sharing and Modifying Forms.
