GlobalWave Trailer Tracking & Monitoring System
TransCore is Country’s Largest Mobile
Satellite Communications Provider for Monitoring and Control of
Refrigerated Systems
PORTLAND, Ore. (Business Wire EON/PRWEB ) February 26, 2008 --
Quest Global, a refrigerated truckload carrier based in Atlanta, Ga.,
selects TransCore’s GlobalWave
trailer tracking system and will install more than 250 Sense & Track™
units throughout its fleet. Quest Global supports various Fortune 500
customers and specializes in expedited loads to the West coast from the
Southeast.
Founded by Jason and Jeremy Dickerson, Quest Global has leveraged
technology and state-of-the-art equipment enabling them to become a
nationally recognized leader in expedited freight. In order to enhance
operations, Quest Global utilizes the Sense & Track mobile terminals to

thresholds. In addition, historical location and temperature data is
available. Quest Global offers its customers the capability to login and

chain initiative launched by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency in
2004 that brings together major freight shippers, trucking companies,
railroads, logistics companies and trade/professional associations to
pursue strategies and tactics that will reduce emissions from freight
movement, reduce fuel consumption, and provide cost savings to the
companies.
About TransCore’s Sense & Track Trailer
Tracking
TransCore’s
Sense & Track mobile terminal is one of GlobalWave’s
family of compact satellite communication devices. Using a two-way
protocol, it sends reports, receives commands, and can be polled
throughout North America. It utilizes a third generation GlobalWave
satellite modem that allows for fast GPS fixes with an accuracy of 35
feet or better and capable of providing location information in less
than a minute, among the fastest response time in the industry.
GlobalWave satellite trailer tracking products are the most rugged and
power efficient available today. TransCore’s
untethered tracking solutions are capable of providing up to six (6)
years of service on a single integrated battery pack and are easy to
install.
With full sensor suite capability the Sense & Track terminal is able to
show loaded/empty status and provide data from other monitored systems
such as load temperature and tire inflation. By adding cargo and door
sensors, immediate alert notification can be sent when trailer doors are
opened or closed along with empty/full load status information enhancing
security for both the load and trailer, including reduction of theft.
With three ground control stations providing service to five continents,
the GlobalWave network supports customers worldwide including more than
600 commercial fleets throughout North America, the U.S. Department of
Defense, and powers TransCore’s 3sixty
fleet management services. In 2007, TransCore’s
trailer tracking and communications unit reached distribution milestones
exceeding 150,000 satellite communications transceivers worldwide.
