SupportSoft wanted a configuration that would allow them to take advantage of their technology knowledge while helping manage costs
SAN ANTONIO (PRWEB) December 15, 2008
Under the agreement, Rackspace is providing a Windows-based web environment that runs on a heterogeneous hosting model consisting of a Platform and Managed Hosting combination. Created as a unique alternative to colocation, Platform Hosting gives users the control to manage all aspects of their hosting environment, with the added benefit of managed hardware and network infrastructure. Managed Hosting provides users with a fully managed offering, which includes 24x7x365 technology and service support.
SupportSoft develops software that automates the resolution of IT problems through proactive, self-healing and assisted service technology. For more than 10 years, they've helped ensure that technology critical to businesses — and their customers — works as planned. Their best-in-class, scalable solutions are designed to enable both end users and analysts to detect, diagnose and correct problems at home, in the office or anywhere in between. With these solutions, SupportSoft endeavors to reduce the costs associated with support delivery. The company's consumer arm, support.com, takes this enterprise grade technology and uses it to provide Instant Technology Relief® directly to consumers and small businesses through their technology engineers at 1-800-PC-Support and a number of major retail, DSP and ISP partners.
"Rackspace is able to offer us the highest level of uptime, which is critical to our and our customers' success," said Anthony Rodio, chief operating officer, SupportSoft. "Thousands of global customers depend on SupportSoft and support.com to provide always-on service. With their Fanatical Support®, we have found that Rackspace values customers as much as we do."
SupportSoft moved to Rackspace based on value, IT resources and the ability to provide data center redundancy. SupportSoft sought out a hosting company that could meet their unique hosting needs, allowing them the flexibility to manage aspects of their hosting environment for parts of their business while also offering a fully managed hosting service for others. They also sought technical expertise, world-class data centers and world-class customer support, all of which could help enable them to provide superior service.
"SupportSoft wanted a configuration that would allow them to take advantage of their technology knowledge while helping manage costs," said Jim Lewandowski, senior vice president, worldwide sales, Rackspace Hosting. "Rackspace has been able to step in and provide a tailored offering to SupportSoft saving them time and money that they now put towards business critical operations."
