Raindrop Games launched Arrival: Village Kasike on October 24, 2012 for iPad, iPhone, and iPod Touch. Arrival: Village Kasike is the first game in the Arrival series which focuses on the history of the Taino people. Players lead a Taino village to thriving prosperity or a struggling existence--challenges include hurricane preparation, food cultivation, village defense, morale management, and more. Presented through engaging and entertaining gameplay, the rich heritage of the first people to contact European explorers in the Caribbean is awaiting discovery.
About Arrival: Village Kasike
Arrival: Village Kasike presents the story of Naniki, a Taino woman, who, through fate, must lead a struggling village back to prosperity. The game was developed in collaboration with Roberto Mukaro Borerro, President of The United Confederation of Taino People. He served as consultant, reviewing the various aspects of Taino life portrayed - from clothing, farming techniques, and ceremonies – in an effort to provided the highest standard of accuracy in this setting. He also provided Taino music and speech to create a more immersive and authentic experience.
Players must develop their farming and fishing skills, hurricane preparedness, and the ability to protect their village from raiders who are vying for the same resources. Balance is the key to survival as the factors of food, morale, and population interact to create interesting decisions at every stage of village development.
