Dr. David Walmer has been recognized by Castle Connolly as being among the top 1% of reproductive endocrinologists in the United States. He completed medical school at the University of North Carolina, fellowship at Duke University and is board certified in both Reproductive Endocrinology & Infertility and Obstetrics & Gynecology. He is the former Division Chief of Reproductive Endocrinology at Duke University. Dr. Walmer brings the intellectual rigor of a physician scientist and the compassion of a humanitarian to the practice of medicine. He is the founder and chairman of a local non-profit organization, Family Health Ministries, that works in Haiti and he is also an active member of the faculty of the Global Health Institute at Duke University.

Dr. Susannah Copland brings sincerity, empathy, and scientific understanding to her medical practice in assisted reproduction. She is board certified in both Reproductive Endocrinology & Infertility and Obstetrics & Gynecology and is the former Director of Fertility Preservation and Third Party Reproduction at the Duke University Division of Reproductive Endocrinology. Her journey to medicine started on a unique path, attending Cornell University to study agricultural and biological engineering. She graduated with honors, and received a Dean’s Award full-tuition scholarship to the Mayo Clinic School of Medicine where she would later receive her medical degree. Outside of the realm of medicine, Dr. Copland is an accomplished cellist, having trained with the principal cellist of the Buffalo Philharmonic Orchestra. Her love for music has taught her how to listen closely to others, which helps her provide exceptional care to patients.
Katherine Scott, Atlantic Reproductive’s embryologist, brings extensive clinical and cutting edge research experience in the areas of preimplantation genetics and vitrification to our lab. Designed in collaboration with a team of experts, the newest IVF lab in the Triangle simulates the maternal environment in a way that optimally nurtures the growth of embryos.
