Katy ISD recognized that because we design and manufacture our own product we can provide them with features that our competitors don’t, and exceed their timeframe in getting the buildings delivered and installed.

Ramtech Building Systems, Mansfield, TX has announced that the company will be providing 27 new modular buildings to the Katy Independent School District in Katy, Texas. As the winning bidder, Ramtech will provide the district with twenty-four 1,536 square foot custom portable classrooms, along with three 240 square foot modular restroom buildings. The school district is requiring the new modular buildings to be in place prior to a May 25, 2011 deadline. According to Gary White, Ramtech’s V.P. of sales and Estimating, the school district put out an expedited solicitation for the project and was very pleased with the quality and completeness of the response they received from Ramtech. “Katy indicated that they were very pleased with the quality and professional manner we exhibited in the previous modular buildings we provided to them,” said White, “and they recognized that because we design and manufacture our own product we can provide them with features that our competitors don’t, and exceed their timeframe in getting the buildings delivered and installed.”

Katy ISD, located just west of Houston, is one of the fastest growing suburbs in the south Texas area. Increased enrollment at all grade levels has required the district to look for alternative facility solutions like modular buildings while they begin an expedited renovation program at their existing campuses. The new portable classrooms and restroom facilities will be used to both accommodate displaced students and meet an expected influx of new students as a result of several new upscale housing developments planned for the area.

As the largest provider of portable classrooms in the Southwest, Ramtech has successfully manufactured and installed over 2,000 portable and modular classroom buildings since they introduced the concept in 1982. Located on 20 acres in the southern part of the Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex, the company maintains an inventory of standard portable double classroom buildings for both sale and lease applications. With convenient access to the major transportation arteries that serve cities throughout the Southwest, their portable classrooms are available for immediate delivery and can also be acquired through several network purchasing cooperatives, most notably the Texas Association of School Boards’ BuyBoard program.

The company can also handle larger more complex construction projects. As a vertically integrated design-build construction company, Ramtech can provide space planning, design services, manufacturing, and site construction on every project they produce. The company maintains a consistent workforce of production workers and supervisory personnel with an average of 13 years experience, many with tenures over 20 years. This experience, coupled with Ramtech’s approach to modular manufacturing and construction, allows for greater control at each step in the building process resulting in significant time and money savings for their clients.
