In order to help students visualize what a career in criminal justice may look like, Rasmussen College has developed an online interactive world.

Rastopia's Investigation Room

Spend some time in our interactive courthouse and get more information than ever before. Rastopia is designed to assure you that you have chosen the right degree, the right career, and the right college.

When people hear Criminal Justice, they usually think of police officers or CSI-like detectives, but one college is making the field of justice studies a little more creative for people interested in pursuing the field.

Rastopia is an online, interactive world designed to help people considering college get a realistic understanding of degrees and career opportunities.

In Rastopia, you can explore different buildings and encounter photo-realistic environments like the epicenter of Criminal Justice Studies in Rastopia--the Courthouse Investigation Room.

This dark, moody, video game-like environment is Rasmussen College's opportunity to showcase its Homeland Security program (a specialization of the Criminal Justice Degree program). There's a double-sided mirror on the wall, computers that track criminals, and there's even a real student that talks to visitors. The gritty design of the environment certainly isn't pretty, but neither is the field of Homeland Security, which is why students love it.

Increasingly, colleges like Rasmussen College are finding new, pioneering ways to showcase their programs. Rastopia is both educational and entertaining--a form of recruiting called "edutainment". Rasmussen College has developed Rastopia to help students who would traditionally attend a public college see the benefits of a private, career-focused college.

At Rasmussen College, students benefit from small class sizes, courses taught by professionals in the field, 24/7 student support online and on its campuses, and career preparation and placement assistance. Rastopia is an creative way to communicate these advantages by utilizing the latest technology.

CarieAnn Potenza is Director of the School of Justice Studies at Rasmussen, and she is also the greeter visitors to Rastopia see when they enter the courthouse:

"Spend some time in our interactive courthouse and get more information than ever before. Rastopia is designed to assure you that you have chosen the right degree, the right career, and the right college."
