As consumers continue to share ever-more personal information via digital technologies, the issue of privacy is guaranteed to become an even more pervasive concern. During the Workshop, delegates will be tasked with creating collaborative, pro-bono videos to raise awareness around the important issue of online privacy. Several teams will compete to create the best video using assets provided by Razorfish and partners Zoopa, the platform for user-generated content and advertising, and music licensing and media firm Audiosocket.
A critic's choice video will be selected at the end of the session. In addition, all the films will be uploaded to a dedicated Vimeo channel. Teams will be encouraged to drive viewership and "likes" of their videos, which will also be featured on the Pri-va-what? blog, http://privawhat.posterous.com/ . In the weeks following, a second winner will be chosen, this time by the people. Visible Measures will be providing additional video analytics.
The Pri-va-what? blog, which is currently is live, will also be featuring privacy links and commentary, chronicling final preparations for the session, and providing a preview of assets that will be available to workshop attendees.
More information about the session can be found at http://www.canneslions.com/festival/event_detail_page.cfm?event_id=88
Razorfish's Jeremy Lockhorn, VP of Emerging Media, will lead the session, educating participants on how the complex debate over online privacy affects consumers, businesses and advertising agencies, before kicking off the video contest. Frederic Bonn, Group Creative Director at Razorfish, will serve as creative counselor to the teams and ultimately help choose the critic's choice winner.
Audiosocket and Zoopa partnered with Razorfish to provide audio and video clips for the videos. Vimeo will provide both hosting and distribution assistance, and Visible Measures is providing video analytics.
