Venom Group, maker of high quality remote control toys has donated more than 4,000 quality radio control toys to North Idaho, Spokane and Seattle area Toys for Tots drive.

The older kids are generally the toughest for Toys for Tots to get donations for. We're happy our products are perfectly suited to fill this need. Regardless if times are good or bad, no child should go through the holidays without receiving a gift

For the past three years Venom Group International has taken part in the annual Toys for Tots drive, donating various remote control toys from their line of hobby and toy products for distribution to local families.

"Due to today's economic challenges, Toys for Tots has been faced with one of the worst toy drives in 20 years. The Catch-22 is that these tough economic times are exactly when Toys for Tots needs donations the most, " said Clint Bower, President of Venom.

Like many businesses, Venom too is feeling the pinch. "This time of year we're usually shipping pallet loads of toys to stores across the nation, however this year its been reduced to only box loads, " said Bower. With excess inventory of some of their key toys for this holiday season, Venom decided to super-size its annual donation.

This week, Venom Group will donate more than 4,000 quality radio controlled toys worth more than $250,000 to North Idaho, Spokane and Seattle area Toys for Tots collection centers. The products include rc boats, airplanes, and rc helicopters, targeted to ages 8 to 18 and are sure to put a smile on any child's face.

"The older kids are generally the toughest for Toys for Tots to get donations for. We're happy our products are perfectly suited to fill this need. Regardless if times are good or bad, no child should go through the holidays without receiving a gift," said Bower.

To reach out to the Seattle area Toys for Tots collection center, Venom excepted the gracious donation of free trucking to Seattle made possible by Glenn and Sherry Tucker of Diversified Transportation Services, Estes Express, Expeditors International and Peninsula Truck Lines.

"I think it's incredible what Venom is doing to ensure a Merry Christmas for local children. Watching the truck loads of toys leaving the warehouse actually brought tears to my eyes," said Melissa Harshman, Graphics Marketing Coordinator.

"I am filled with pride to be a part of a small organization donating so much to such a wonderful cause," said Debby Harper, Financial Administrator.

Serious times call for serious measures and with the Holidays just around the corner, Venom staff is proud to make this donation to the children and families of our local community.
