Real Estate Marketing Insider issued their expert opinion about the apparent increase in the use of real estate agents by home sellers today, and their opinion is that this will help real estate agents due to the fact that the housing market is improving and real estate agent marketing looks to be a productive means of promoting private property sales.
Mercurynews.com reports on a recent poll from Homegain that indicated that home sellers who use a real estate agent report see an increased success rate of 120% over those who attempt to sell a home themselves. The National Association of Realtors, who own the trademark for the word “Realtor,” have compiled information indicating that this higher rate of success is why the last twenty years have seen a ten percent increase in the number of home sellers who choose to use a realtor. Along with a higher sales rate, this survey indicated that many home sellers prefer to have an agent deal with paperwork and other tasks that they find confusing or time-consuming.
Homegain.com is owned by a conglomerate of media companies, including the Washington Post Company and Tribine Company. The primary goal of Homegain is to provide information about real estate agents as well as home for sale, mainly for the purposes of comparison. There are also other services provided by Homegain, such as value calculators and online reviews of different agents.
Realtor is a term trademarked by the National Association of Realtors, although in most of the world, the word is used for anyone who functions as a part of the real estate industry. For the most part, it refers to a real estate agent or broker. In the United States, these agents can function either as a buyer’s agent, representing the interests of anyone buying a home for a portion of the sale price, or as a seller’s agent, which makes them responsible for creating listings and directing buyers to a home.
Real Estate Marketing Insider today commented the poll indicating that home sellers found a greater deal of success when using a real estate agent, which has contributed to a rise in the numbers of sellers using an agent rather than selling a home privately.
