I can say with great confidence that this may be one of the top locations for a medium size church looking to make an impact in the Nashville community. The feel of the building and the access to the southern portions of Metro Nashville makes this a very attractive opportunity for the right church.
Nashville, TN (PRWEB) December 29, 2008
The Otter Creek Church of Christ in Nashville, Tennessee, has decided to list its former building on eBay®. Hoping to gain attention for the property in the midst of an economic downturn and real estate turmoil, the church has turned to the online international auction and shopping site.
The church's property, located at 5253 Granny White Pike in Nashville, is comprised of 9.65 acres totaling 31,210 sq. ft. which includes a sanctuary, two-story educational wing, and large parking lot.
Having outgrown their Granny White location, the Otter Creek Church purchased a building in Brentwood from the Living Word Church in early 2006. The former building is currently being leased to a church. The Otter Creek Kindergarten and Preschool are also continuing to occupy the space while the school is trying to relocate to the new Brentwood location as well.
Phil Gibbs, Otter Creek's Director of Ministries says, "The move of the Otter Creek church family to our new location has certainly been a blessing, but it was done with very mixed feelings since so many of us have had our children raised and baptized at the Granny White location. While we feel sure that our move was directed by God, we would be most gratified to see the Granny White property be used as a church facility playing an important role in the Forest Hills community."
The property is located in the Forest Hills neighborhood -- one of the most affluent in Nashville. The property is zoned institutional, making the property most ideal for a church or school.
"Having spent my career in the commercial real estate market in Nashville," says Otter Creek elder Wayne Tomlinson, "I can say with great confidence that this may be one of the top locations for a medium size church looking to make an impact in the Nashville community. The feel of the building and the access to the southern portions of Metro Nashville makes this a very attractive opportunity for the right church."
Associate Minister Doug Sanders adds, "For a growing church that has a heart for Nashville, I can think of no better place to locate. In the days of ostentatious buildings meant to showcase a group of people to the community, this property quietly reaches out and invites the neighborhoods to come in and get to know Jesus."
