There was a significant increase in the number of closed sales for attached and detached homes, condos, and townhomes in Barrington. The number of closed sales for attached homes increased from zero closed sales in March 2012 to 6 closed sales in March 2013.

The improvement in the number of closed sales for Barrington homes is a good sign that the real estate market may be improving.

There was a significant increase in the number of closed sales for attached and detached homes, condos, and townhomes in Barrington. The number of closed sales for attached homes increased from zero closed sales in March 2012 to 6 closed sales in March 2013.

Additionally, the number of closed sales for detached homes rose from 13 closed sales in March 2012 to 20 closed sales in March 2013. This increase in closed sales is good considering the number of homes for sale in the area dropped over the last year. The number of attached homes for sale fell from 33 homes in March 2012 to 18 homes in March 2013, and the number of detached homes for sale declined from 151 homes one year ago to 94 homes in March 2013. There was also a decrease in the number of new listings for homes for sale in Barrington, as the number of new listings for attached homes fell from 9 new listings in March 2012 to 6 new listings in March 2013, and the number of new listings for detached homes decreased from 44 new listings in March 2012 to 38 new listings in March 2013.

The decrease in new listings and homes for sale also caused the month’s supply of inventory to decline in March 2013. The month’s supply of inventory for attached homes fell from 17.8 homes one year ago to 5.7 homes this March 2013, and the month’s supply of inventory for detached homes dropped from 9.5 homes in March 2012 to 4.8 homes in March 2013. The median sales price for attached homes, townhomes, and condos in Barrington rose to $139,229 in March 2013. While this represents an increase because no homes were sold in March 2012, the median sales price for March 2013 is significantly lower than March 2011’s figure of $190,000. There was a slight decrease in the median sales price for detached homes, as this number dropped from $420,000 in March 2012 to $408,750 in March 2013. The market time for attached homes for March 2013 was 215 days.

It is difficult to compare this to 2012 since no home were sold in March 2012. However, it does show a dramatic increase over March 2011’s figure of 7 days. There was improvement in the market time for detached homes in the last month, as the number of days detached homes remained on the market fell from 234 days in March 2012 to 137 days in March 2013. The improvement in the number of closed sales for Barrington homes is a good sign that the real estate market may be improving.
