Rising from 67 closed sales for year ending January 31, 2011 to 83 closed sales for year ending January 31, 2012 to 118 closed sales for year ending January 31, 2013. January 31, 2013 figures also revealed a significant decrease in the number of days homes stayed on the market. This number dropped from 313 days on the market two years ago to 198 days over the past year. This is good news considering the number of homes for sale in Long Grove decrease from 127 homes for year ending January 31, 2012 to 114 homes for year ending January 31, 2013. The number of new home listings also decreased from 255 new listings for year ending January 31, 2012 to 244 new listings for year ending January 31, 2013. The monthly supply of inventory also declined for the third year in a row as the number dropped from 23.2 homes for year ending January 31, 2011 to 19.4 homes for year ending January 31, 2012 to 14.1 homes for year ending January 31, 2013. The median sales price for home, townhomes and condos in Long Grove saw a slight decrease of nearly 5% for the year ending January 31, 2013.
