There was a dramatic decrease in the median sales price for attached homes, townhomes, and condos in Palatine for the month of March 2013, as the sales price dropped from $124,750 in March 2012 to $64,250 in March 2013

There were mixed result for the number of closed sales for homes, condos, and townhomes in Palatine. The number of closed sales for attached homes increased from 44 closed sales in March 2012 to 52 closed sales in March 2013. However, there was a decrease in the number of closed sales for detached homes, as the number fell from 30 closed sales in March 2012 to 29 closed sales in March 2013. There was a decrease in the number of homes for sale in the area for both attached and detached home. The number of attached homes for sale dropped from 413 homes in March 2012 to 172 homes in March 2013, whereas, the number of detached homes for sale fell from 259 homes in March 2012 to 173 homes in March 2013. There were, however, mixed results for the number of new listings for homes for sale in Palatine. The number of new listings for attached homes fell from 101 new listings in March 2012 to 88 new listings for March 2013, but the number of new listings for detached homes rose from 81 new listings in March 2012 to 87 new listings for March 2013. There was also a decrease in the month’s supply of inventory for homes in the area. The month’s supply of inventory for attached homes fell from 9.4 homes in March 2012 to 2.9 homes in March 2013, and the month’s supply of inventory for detached homes dropped from 9.8 homes in March 2012 to 4.3 homes in March 2013. There was a dramatic decrease in the median sales price for attached homes, townhomes, and condos in Palatine for the month of March 2013, as the sales price dropped from $124,750 in March 2012 to $64,250 in March 2013. There was also a slight decrease in the median sales price for detached homes, as the number fell from $260,000 in March 2012 to $234,000 in March 2013. The month did show improvement in the market time for both attached and detached homes. The market time for attached home decreased from 204 days to 151 days, where the market time for detached home dropped from 206 days to 159 days.
