The month did show some improvement in the market time for both attached and detached homes sold in the area. The number of days attached homes remained on the market fell from 196 days in April 2012 to 109 days in April 2013

There was an increase in the median sales price for both attached and detached homes, condos, and townhomes in Schaumburg. The median sales price for attached homes increased from $99,000 in April 2012 to $110,000 in April 2013, and the median sales price for detached home rose from $236,000 in April 2012 to $245,000 in April 2013. There has also been an increase in the number of closed sales on attached and detached homes sold in the area for the third straight year. The number of closed sales for attached homes increased from 31 closed sales in April 2011 to 51 closed sales in April 2012 to 70 closed sales for April 2013.

The number of closed sales for detached homes rose from 20 closed sales in April 2011 to 32 closed sales in April 2012 to 38 closed sales for April 2013. The month did, however, show a decrease in the number of homes for sale in Schaumburg. The number of attached homes for sale dropped from 359 homes in April 2012 to 148 homes in April 2013, and the number of detached homes for sale fell from 174 homes in April 2012 to 122 homes in April 2013. There were mixed results for the number of new listings for homes for sale in the area. After seeing a decrease of 23.8% last year in the number of new listings for attached homes, as the number fell from 122 new listings in April 2011 to 93 new listings in April 2012, this number remained steady at 93 new listings for April 2013. Whereas, the number of new listings for detached houses increased this month by 15.5%, as the number rose from 58 new listings in April 2012 to 67 new listings for April 2013.

There was a decrease in the month’s supply of inventory for homes, townhomes, and condos in Schaumburg, as the month’s supply of inventory for attached homes dropped from 8.4 homes in April 2012 to 2.4 homes in April 2013, and the month’s supply of inventory for detached homes dropped from 6.6 homes in April 2012 to 3.6 homes in April 2013. The month did show some improvement in the market time for both attached and detached homes sold in the area. The number of days attached homes remained on the market fell from 196 days in April 2012 to 109 days in April 2013, and the number of days detached homes stayed on the market dropped from 190 days in April 2012 to 151 days in April 2013.
