The number of new listings for attached homes remained steady at 93 new listings for the years ending April 30, 2012 and April 30, 2013.

There was an increase in the median sales price for both attached and detached homes, condos, and townhomes in Schaumburg for the year ending April 30, 2013. The median sales price for attached homes increased by 11.1%, as the price rose from $99,000 for the year ending April 30, 2012 to $110,000 for the year ending April 30, 2013. The median sales price for detached homes also increased by 3.8%, as the price rose from $236,000 for the year ending April 30, 2012 to $245,000 for the year ending April 30, 2013. There was also an increase in the number of closed sales in the area, as the number of closed sales for attached homes rose from 51 closed sales for the year ending April 30, 2012 to 70 closed sales for the year ending April 30, 2013, and the number of closed sales for detached homes increased from 32 closed sales for the year ending April 30, 2013 to 38 closed sales for the year ending April 30, 2013.

The year did, however, show a decrease in the number of homes for sale in Schaumburg, as the number of homes for sale decreased from 359 homes for sale for the year ending April 30, 2012 to 156 homes for sale for the year ending April 30, 2013, and the number of detached homes for sale dropped from 174 homes for sale for the year ending April 30, 2012 to 124 homes for sale for the year ending April 30, 2013. There were mixed results in the number of new listings for attached and detached homes for the year. The number of new listings for attached homes remained steady at 93 new listings for the years ending April 30, 2012 and April 30, 2013. Whereas, the number of new listings for detached homes increased by 15.5%, rising from 58 new listings for the year ending April 30, 2012 to 67 new listings for the year ending April 30, 2013. There was a decrease in the month’s supply of inventory for homes, townhomes, and condos in Schaumburg for the year ending April 30, 2013.

The month’s supply of inventory for attached homes in Schaumburg fell from 8.4 homes for the year ending April 30, 2012 to 2.6 homes for the year ending April 30, 2013, and the month’s supply of inventory for detached homes dropped from 6.6 homes for the year ending April 30, 2012 to 3.7 homes for the year ending April 30, 2013. There was some improvement in the market time as the number of days attached homes remained on the market dropped from 196 days for the year ending April 30, 2012 to 109 days for the year ending April 30, 2013, and the number of days detached homes stayed on the market fell from 190 days for the year ending April 30, 2012 to 151 days for the year ending April 30, 2013.
