Traffic REMI sees as opportunities that realtors can convert into viable leads. Social networking sites, such as Pinterest, Facebook, and Twitter, offer the ability to post pictures and even videos. Realtors can post pictures of listings or highlighted property tour videos.

According to an August 2012 study conducted by the Pew Research Center (a nonpartisan social science research company) 69 percent of adults participate in social networking. REMI believes this statistic shows social networking is not just a fad teenagers are hung up on. Social media is reaching real customers and with one post it has the ability to spread and reach millions.

Another great way to generate traffic and following in a close second on REMI’s list is using search engine optimization. Search engine optimization or SEO is the process by which a website is optimized for visibility by a search engine, such as Google, with the end goal being a higher ranking on the search engines results page. With a higher ranking a site will appear closer to the top of the page which will result in more visits to the website. Again, more traffic to the website means more opportunity for realtors to convert leads. Google offers a starter guide to SEO, but for many hiring an SEO company is the way to go.

REMI’s third marketing idea for realtors in 2013 is to focus on a niche. Hone in on a certain group of people, such as the military, or a certain type of property, such as beach front vacation rentals. Real Estate Marketing Insider believes that becoming an expert in a specific niche sets a realtor apart from the crowd and makes them a more valuable asset.
