Since 2000, Planet Green Recycle has offered a free fundraising program for non-profits, schools and religious organizations to send in inkjet cartridges, cell phones and other small electronics for cash. Planet Green Recycle works with thousands of organizations in North America and has paid out over $40,000,000 in donations to date.

The Planet Green Official Blog kicked off by posting the first in a monthly series called “Organization Spotlight” to feature an outstanding participating organization within the Planet Green Recycle fundraising program. The first organization to get the spotlight was Hot Springs Community Learning Center in North Carolina. The HSCLC leader, Debbie DeLisle provides intriguing information about the benefits of working with Planet Green as a fundraising platform, what they are raising funds for and how they encourage student, parent and staff participation in the program.

“The Planet Green Recycle fundraising program has not only likely made our members even more environmentally conscious, it has provided a doable process,” Delisle explains. “Just as we sort our plastic, paper and glass; they can easily set aside the ink and electronics and contribute this way as well while supporting their favorite cause.” Hot Springs Community Learning Center is a non-profit 5-star NC State licensed child care facility that takes pride in teaching students about how to respect and take care of mother earth. Delisle continues, “It all begins with establishing habits when a person is young through our daily practice with children, not just on Earth Day!”

Planet Green Recycle is thrilled to have a very public way to show support for participating organizations hard work. Not only are charitable organizations raising funds for good causes in a cash-strapped economy but are also helping to keep tons of e-waste out of landfills. “We work with each organization one-on-one to truly understand their needs and goals to develop a successful fundraising program that is easy to execute and successful year-round,” says Arica Rosenthal, Director of Marketing for Planet Green Recycle. “In addition to helping charitable organizations raise precious fundraising dollars, we are working together to save the planet. It’s not every day that you get to be a part of something that has multiple benefits without any downside.”

In addition to spotlighting participating organizations, future Planet Green Recycle blog posts will consist of green living articles, support for US manufacturing, fundraising tips and more.
