Rentapal.com, the website that sells friendship by the hour, begins a new service today: offering the helpful advice of a trusted friend for people seeking answers to life's problems. The new service is completely free and called "DEAR RENTAPAL."
Anyone can use the service by going to http://www.rentapal.com and asking for advice on any subject. Rentapal responds by email and his answers may surprise some people. For example, one embarrassed woman writes of having flatulence on a first date and wonders why she never heard from the man again. Rentapal lays it on the line for her: "There are two cardinal rules for first dates. No vomiting and no farting. You blew it (so to speak). You will never hear from him again. Consider a change in dietary habits."
Rentapal, also known as New York conceptual artist Paul Rebhan, says this is a much needed service: "More people than ever are lonely, isolated and in need of real friendship. In the past I've been able to help a small number of people by letting them rent me in-person. Now I can help many people through the power of the Internet. DEAR RENTAPAL speaks to a new generation who want bluntly honest answers. This is definitely not Dear Abby!"
Rebhan is offering DEAR RENTAPAL as a syndicated service to other websites, newspapers, magazines, radio, and television.
Rentapal.com was started in 2002 as a conceptual art project by New York artist Paul Rebhan. For $19.95 per hour, anyone can hire Rentapal (Rebhan) to be his or her best friend. Rebhan is also the co-creator/inventor of Quiet Parties and Silent Dating -- nightclub events where people are not allowed to speak, and was the first artist to ever sneak his own painting into a major museum (the Museum of Modern art) where it was admired by museum-goers for two days along with works by Dali and Picasso.
Rentapal (Paul Rebhan) is currently in the New York City area and available for interviews and appearances, in-person or by phone.
Provide your viewers, listeners or readers with the genuine experience of renting a friend. Hire Rentapal and do a story on your "best-friend experience." Contact Rentapal to arrange it.
