Jan. 15, 2012, marked the first annual 5K and 1 mile fun run in honor of Wendy Wrucha. The event took place at Gadsen Park in Tampa, Fla. at 8 a.m. All proceeds went toward Wrucha’s work place of 13 years, All Children’s Hospital pediatric rehabilitation via the All Children’s Hospital Foundation.
According to event coordinator, Renee Murphy, the first time event exceeded all expectations with nearly 500 people registered for Wrucha’s Run and the event totaling over $14,000 for All Children’s Hospital pediatric rehabilitation.
“We hope to use the money raised to provide better resources and tools for therapists to use in treatment sessions. For example, iPads for nonverbal patients,” said Murphy.
ReliaQuest was title sponsor and main financial supporter for Wrucha’s Run. Among the 500 participants were multiple ReliaQuest employees, who supported the costs and hopes of these donations to help keep Wrucha’s memory alive.
