Beckley, WV (PRWEB) July 16, 2012
In addition to educating guests about the organization, Remember The Miners will be selling raffle tickets to raise funds for its flagship educational program, The Scholars Program.
The Remember The Miners Scholars Program was created in 2011 to provide financial aid to miners, dependents of miners, and students pursuing higher education in the mining industry. Remember The Miners and the West Virginia Coal Foundation created the Scholars Program to support families of the West Virginia mining community. Awardees of the scholarship are miners, dependents of miners, or students pursuing higher education in the mining industry.
“The Friends of Coal Auto Fair is a great opportunity for Remember The Miners to connect with supporters of the hardworking men and women of the coal industry,” began Jason Parsons, President of Remember The Miners. “We’re excited to take part in this renowned West Virginia event, and to join organizations like Friends of Coal in giving back to coal communities.”
The Friends of Coal Auto Fair is one of West Virginia's premier car shows and festivals. Held at the YMCA Paul Cline Memorial Youth Sports Complex in Beckley, West Virginia, the show features hundreds of rods, customs, classics, muscle cars, motorcycles, tuners, and trucks from all years.
The event also helps shine a light on the coal industry and what it does to make our state a better place to work, live and play. All proceeds from the Friends of Coal Auto Fair help support the YMCA of Southern West Virginia, the sports complex and the Y's youth programs.
