Remember The Miners is pleased to announce the Spring 2012 Pritchard Mining Class Scholars Program awardees.

Inductees into the Spring 2012 Pritchard Mining Class Scholars Program are: Jenna Ellison, Kelsie Blankenship, Ashton Cline, Daniel Brummage, Collin Morris, Bobbi Graham, Ronald Coon, Jr., Patrick Manley, Wanda McCune, LaTasha Mitchell, Matthew Curry, Robin Davis, Paige DeHart, and Whitney Justice.

The Remember The Miners Scholars Program was created in 2011 to provide financial aid to miners, dependents of miners, and students pursuing higher education in the mining industry. Remember The Miners and the West Virginia Coal Foundation created the Scholars Program to support families of the West Virginia mining community. Awardees of the scholarship are miners, dependents of miners, or students pursuing higher education in the mining industry.

“We’re excited for these men and women to continue their education in the coal industry,” began Jason Parsons of Remember The Miners. “By offering these scholarships to people of the coal community, we’re educating our future and providing opportunities for the next generation of miners.”

In its first year, Remember The Miners awarded $25,000 to Scholars Program finalists. The Spring 2012 Pritchard Mining Class is comprised of 14 scholars who will be awarded a collective $25,000 as well.
