The Remember The Miners Tribute Golf Classic is an inaugural event being held this year to raise awareness and funds of the organization. Four-person teams will play the course. Sponsorship packages are available, and include the option of being assigned a celebrity to complete a team with three players.
“We’re honored that Little General has continued its tradition of philanthropic involvement and community support with its generous contribution for our first annual golf tournament,” began Jason Parsons, President of Remember The Miners. “Little General has been an integral part of our fundraising process in the past, including sponsoring our first class of the Scholars Program in 2011.”
Registration will begin at 8:00 AM with a shotgun start at 9:30 AM. Prior to the event’s beginning, awardees of the Spring 2012 Pritchard Mining Class will be announced, and Remember The Miners will conduct tribute programming honoring the coal miners, their families, and the community. A cocktail reception will be held following the tournament, in addition to a seated dinner.
Greg Darby, President of Little General, stated, “We’re proud to be the Title Sponsor for the Remember The Miners Tribute Golf Classic. We continue to support Remember The Miners because of their commitment to the coal miner and supporting all the hardworking men and women of the coal industry.”
“We thank Little General for their support in this first-time event,” began Coach Bob Huggins, Honorary Chairman of Remember The Miners. “Little General’s donation will help us realize the Remember The Miners Tribute Golf Classic to its fullest potential, allowing us to establish this event as a yearly fundraiser in helping our organization continue to grow and tell the story of our coal miners.”
