EMCO Remote Installer is a software distribution tool for Windows.

San Francisco, CA (PRWEB) March 01, 2014

EMCO Software, a leading provider of remote deployment solutions for Windows networks, has announced the availability of a new version of EMCO Remote Installer. The new version of the application includes new features to help network administrators to audit installed software and to distribute software across a local network.

EMCO Remote Installer is a software distribution tool for Windows. Network administrators can use it to collect information about the installed software from remote PCs and to install and uninstall software remotely. All the operations can be performed from a central location on multiple remote PCs in parallel, so network administrators can distribute software across a local network quickly and easily.

Network administrators can use the software audit features of the application to collect information on all the installed applications. The application extracts information about installed software from remote PCs and stores this information in a centralized database, so network administrators can check which applications are installed on a particular PC or in a particular network group. The application shows the collected data in the user interface, and it's possible to group the data by software vendor or application name to see on which PCs a particular application is installed. These features allow network administrators to plan installations and perform software updates and uninstallations.

Using EMCO Remote Installer, network administrators can install, uninstall and update software packages that are available as EXE, MSI and MSP packages. Distributed software should support silent deployment and, if required, network administrators have to specify the silent installation and uninstallation command-line options to perform remote installation and uninstallation. The application allows executing deployment operations on demand and on schedule, so network administrators can specify the date and time for the software to be deployed automatically.

"The new version of the application improves the software deployment features. Now it is possible to install and uninstall software from a group of PCs defined by certain conditions. For example, it's possible to install software on all PCs with specific names or on all PCs that belong to defined Organizational Units of Active Directory", Thorarinn Oskarsson, CEO at EMCO Software, says.
