Detroit Marriott at Renaissance Center Set to Complete $10.5 Million Renovation by Year's End

Downtown Detroit hotel's guest rooms and suites will feature modern décor and amenities.

By year's end, the Detroit Marriott at Renaissance Center will feature more than spectacular views of the Detroit River and a most convenient location at bustling GM Renaissance Center Detroit. With a $10.5 million remodel, which began in July 2007, the downtown Detroit hotel's 1,298 guest rooms and all corridors are receiving upgrades in both décor and amenities.

With a significant portion of the renovation already complete, corridors throughout this 73-story Detroit hotel leading to the new guest rooms are refreshingly up-to-date with new carpet, wall covering, paint, artwork and furniture. Rejuvenating the public areas, new floor tiles have been installed in the vending areas and the guest elevator landings feature new lighting.

Guest rooms will feature contemporary amenities such as elegant armoires with granite tops and Marriott's new Plug-In technology to connect laptops, MP3 players, digital cameras and video game players to the new 37" flat screen televisions in guest rooms. Each Detroit hotel suite at the Marriott at Renaissance Center has a 42-50" flat screen television upgrade. The downtown Detroit hotel's guest bathroom renovation has focused on the replacement of all vanities, wall coverings, paint, artwork, lighting and mirrors. Toiletries are now placed on granite vanity tops with fine wood aprons.
