We are here to inspire them, to give them hope, to assist them in realizing we all feel sad and lonely,” she writes. “Hopefully these pages will revitalize their spirits and put a smile on their faces.

“People pass away in any society,” Torres says. “Widowhood is not talked about. Personally, I believe there is a definite need to do so.”
“Widows Peek” is a collection of nine personal stories, written by nine women – including Torres – who were left alone after their husbands died. “Reflected here is the strength and courage of these ladies telling their own individual tales of love, loss and starting over,” Torres explains. “It amazes me how little so many women know about their finances, banking, checking accounts, etc. because their husbands took care of everything. Now it’s their turn. This book is an eye opener.”
Torres, who lost her husband after 56 years of marriage, wants to reach out to other women and help them cope with what she calls the “emotional devastation” brought on by widowhood. “We are here to inspire them, to give them hope, to assist them in realizing we all feel sad and lonely,” she writes. “Hopefully these pages will revitalize their spirits and put a smile on their faces.”
