Arvic Search Services Inc. announces the launch of RentAServer.ca, offering economical and environmentally friendly co-location, server hardware and peripherals services. Rather than incur the initial capital and ongoing maintenance costs of a stand-alone server, small businesses and organizations can now Rent-A-Server and allocate saved funds to marketing, advertising and other revenue-gaining operations needed to spur sales in today's weakening economy.

"Rent A Server is here to give businesses and projects a hand up -- not a handout -- by enabling clients to take money that would otherwise be required to invest in servers and re-invest it in areas that will drive even more business," Victor Arcuri of Arvic Search Services Inc. says.

The individuals at Rent A Server recognize that small and large businesses alike are always concerned about money spent and capital expenditures. Rent A Server's goal is to provide valuable server configurations and equipment at a reasonable cost, and in doing so, help clients maximize profit.

"We have invested about $100,000 in new state-of-the-art Dell servers. We want to do our part to help about 100 small businesses survive the current economic crunch," Arcuri says. "Rent A Server provides a solution to high capital cost server requirements at a fraction of the cost, while providing the power and technology needed to get tasks done."

One of the greatest benefits of Rent A Server is it requires no capital costs. The biggest initial cost of any server solution is physical hardware. Although a basic server may start around $3,000, proper equipment purchasing can range into the tens of thousands of dollars. In addition, it is not always feasible to purchase a limited resource server and expand it as needs require, which can often double or triple an initial investment. Rent A Server provides state-of-the-art, top-of-the-line server hardware to all clients. Peripherals, including firewalls, routers, data storage arrays and uninterruptible power supplies are included in Rent A Server's hardware configuration, providing the security, connectivity, storage and up-time crucial to many businesses.

In addition to no capital costs and the inclusion of peripherals, Rent A Server features many other benefits, such as no maintenance costs, access to the best server equipment on the market and an environmentally responsible approach.

Rent A Server equipment can be likened to a community of people coming together to efficiently use the resources of a powerful server while using 90 percent less power. A normal server or desktop computer is in use only 8 to 15 percent of the time it is powered-on, yet most x86 hardware is still consuming 60 to 90 percent of a normal workload even when idle. Many of the total resources on most servers, therefore, are never used. RentAServer.ca helps a business reduce its carbon footprint by storing data or hosting an Application at a shared location where hardware is fully utilized.

"All businesses can do their part in reducing their environmental impact. Companies can feel good about renting server equipment instead of causing a new server to be made, shipped, and then disposed of. Plus, virtualized servers consume only 10 percent of the power that a stand-alone server does," Arcuri says.
